COB light strips: Utilizing chip-on-board (Chip-on-Board) packaging technology, multiple LED chips are integrated onto a single substrate, forming a dense chip array. This structure results in a more compact and integrated light source, with a continuous and uniform light-emitting area, resulting in higher brightness and more uniform light.
LED light strips: Individual LED chips are typically arranged side by side on a strip, resulting in a more dispersed light source. While LED light strips can also provide illumination, their brightness may be lower and their light uniformity may not be as good as COB light strips.
Heat Dissipation and Lifespan
Heat Dissipation: COB light strips have a more complex packaging structure, making heat dissipation more challenging. Poor heat dissipation can shorten their lifespan. LED light strips, on the other hand, have simpler heat dissipation and are more likely to maintain a stable operating temperature.
Lifespan: While heat dissipation may affect lifespan, generally speaking, both LED and COB light strips use LEDs as their light source, resulting in a longer lifespan. However, their specific lifespan is also affected by various factors, including product quality and operating environment.
Application Scenarios
COB light strips: Due to their high brightness and uniform light distribution, they are particularly suitable for applications requiring high brightness and uniform lighting, such as large commercial billboards, exhibitions, and stage performances. Furthermore, COB light strips are waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof, making them suitable for a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
LED light strips: They have a wider range of applications, suitable for both small applications such as home decoration, background walls, and cabinet lighting, as well as large applications such as building exteriors and road lighting.
